Halo Top Ice Cream in Singapore? Not Yet
Started in 2012, Halo Top has expanded rapidly in the US since 2016. As Halo Top ice cream is currently still not available in Singapore, we will share with you what are the differences between Sugalight and Halo Top and invite you to explore Sugalight as a yummy and healthy alternative!
|Calories are bad. Let’s cut the calories.
|Calories are not all that matter. The quality of the calories is important as well. We now know that sugar is now a bigger culprit of bad health as compared to fats and oils. Let’s cut out sugars..the bad stuff. Use only health promoting, quality ingredients: eg: Fresh Milk, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil
|Do not add any fats or oils even though good quality fats can be beneficial to health. Sweeten with Erythritol (very low calorie) and Stevia (almost no calorie).
|All flavours do not contain added sugars unless as part of the flavour (eg: sugar found in berries, durian). Use high quality oils for a smoother, creamier ice cream (Coconut Oil: high in MCT, medium chain triglycerides which can help with fat burning and satiety & Olive oil: a minimally processed heart healthy oil that is rich is monounsaturated fat. Sugalight is sweetened with Xylitol and Maltitol, naturally found slow GI sugar alcohols that still taste close to sugar. Sugalight does not use Erythritol due to it negative impact on ice cream texture.
In fact, from Halotop’s website, we see that some of its products such as Chocolate still contains sugar in its ingredients list! https://halotop.com/dairy/chocolate/
